Listen, I bought this Denon DMP-3800BDCI Blu-ray player from an authorized dealer Denon (Up Audio Systems – Colorado Springs, CO), who bought, apparently for the remaining stock at this point from Denon. It retails for $ 1999 and was purchased in December 2009 for 560 € + VAT. E 'was also advertised on Amazon.com for $ 579 and was selected for a new model. This was my first sale high-end of a year, and I was certainly a bit 'afraid that I will not be able to distinguish the difference betweenThis and our players $ 2000 Panasonic DMP-BD35. That concern was quickly dispelled!
One of my wife's favorite recent films is Mamma Mia, it's a chick flick so if you want to get some of the advantages of rental. I learned to love this movie and hate at the same time. Hatred? Quickly show any weaknesses in your TV or Blu-Ray and had a large part of our setup. The black levels with the Panasonic was quite poor, I think it was the TV, but after adding the Denon, I found the trueAuthor was the Panasonic. This is not a fair comparison, because Panasonic has a list price of about $ 250 with a purchase price of $ 127.99 at Costco in December 2008. E 'was essentially a comparison of Rolls Royce to a Kia. Do not get me wrong, the Panasonic was clearly better than the Panasonic DVD player to convert to replace them. With the Denon, I found the colors I thought were great, really was not.
As I said, with Panasonic's black levels were rather low. In the first scenesafter sunset with the sea behind the blacks were grainy, and I lost a lot of details. As long as you can see you were able to do what needs to be a good player, you do not know what he lost. Denon DVD-3800BDCI has been nothing short of phenomenal over the same scenes or any scene for that matter. The blacks were blacks and the moon reflects the water was clear. The colors of the film were vivid and the sound was clear with impressive deep bass notes. Ican not really give the sound of the Denon, since even the upgrade from Onkyo TX-SR804 THX receiver to a Pioneer Elite, a notable difference. How much is due to the Denon, do not know.
Denon DVD-3800BDCI was a much bigger upgrade with better black levels and bright colors. During the opening credits of Mamma Mia were still observe the colors more vivid than the theater. I recommend the Denon, however, may prove more difficult to use in newfield. If you used to find a good player, I highly recommend. I still play a CD in the Denon, so I can not comment on that, except I'm sure that will not disappoint you. If you are a demo-player or even a TV or projector, make sure that a movie can run them.

The main theater is in the family room on ground floor and has too much light. I quickly swap components of this system, a system of the cellar. Items will be exchanged in connection with theTV, receiver, Blu-Ray and the line amplifier. AVS 2000SS will be moved to the basement. I am very curious to see how much better the Denon can result in a theater with separate control of light. I plan to add a Panasonic PT-AX200U projector in the basement in the next two weeks. Here, the Denon will really add the experience of theater, as some projectors need all the help they receive in conjunction with the large screen TV picture quality. I am also curious to see what a differenceTone is emitted in the transition from the huge living room in the small auditorium to be closed. Once again, I have not really tried Denon when it comes to sound quality, even though I know it was much better.
